I'm off in 6 minutes!

I got picked (from a randomizer) for VTO today! I leave at 11 - going shopping for some workout clothes, going for a run - and if the sun comes out, I'm going to soak up some rays & take a nap in my backyard!! Woo!

My life in pictures

Since work is slightly slower today, I figured I'd update my blog w/ some pictures of events & activities over the last few months. Enjoy!

Katie, Richard & I are in charge of games for youth group - these are from our "Duct Tape" night:

The Cocoon The Pseudo-Statue of Liberty - she does have a tape-moustache...not quite sure about that one.
The Tandem-Tape - 2 people held up at the same time. It was impressive.
Man Running Through Pole. Loved it.
This is our youth leader. Hanging upside down from the rafter. By Duct Tape. Safe. Not.

Over Spring Break we had a Senior High Lock-in, which included a movie, Perkins, and bowling *There were other activities but I wasn't able to stay the whole night so I don't know what they were!
Some of our bible study girls:
Love. It.

The reason I left the Lock-In early was to go on vacation to....Las Vegas! I met my parents there for a couple of days. My dad went for a bowling tournament.

We stayed in the Excalibur.
Went hiking in Red Rock Canyon.
Went to Cirque Du Soleil.
And had yummy drinks by the pool in the March sunshine.
And my dad really did go for a bowling tournament. Here's the proof :)

Later in March our College/Young Adult's group had a Mystery Dinner & it was a blast.
My favorite in-character costume: TexOur cook & the host.

Hope you enjoyed!

I talk more than I do.

I'd like to believe I'm a pretty adventurous, spontaneous person.

But the truth is I am not.

I panic when I see or hear about spiders.

I get anxious and nervous sitting in the seats at amusement park rides when I consider the speed and heights I'll have to endure.

I imagine random road trips with friends and the adventures that would ensue - but I've only done it once (KC w/ Mike & David - but I left a note for my parents first so they wouldn't worry & I hopefully wouldn't get in trouble. Which I did.)

I prefer "planned" spontaneity - but can that even really exist?

For Emily's birthday in May, she wants me (& others) to go skydiving with her!

AAAAHHHHHH!!!!

I SO want to do this. The minute I clicked on the website my heart began to pitter-patter rather quickly, I got really hot (is it normal to get hot flashes when you're scared/anxious/nervous/excited?), and I think I had a minor panic attack :)

But it also seems really thrilling - a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

And it's Emily's 21st birthday! How exciting.

Do you think it's crazy to hurl yourself out of a plane with someone strapped to your back and trusting some nylon (?) to bring you safely to the ground?

I need some advice - should I do it?

Would you do it?

Have you done it?

I want to hear from you - let me know your thoughts on this by posting to the comments.

Thanks in advance for your help in making a (somewhat) informed decision.

Watch this

This is probably one of the best auditions I have seen on these talent shows.

I must say I'm guilty of judging by appearances. I got chills, goosebumps, and I won't lie, tears.

Two worlds collide

I read MckMama's blog, and I watch Dancing with the Stars. Awesome.

Tears

I've been following Stellan's story on MckMama's blog & checking out his name gallery - this one brought tears to my eyes:
