I read about all these really awesome documentaries or independent films. I have a saved draft in my cell phone of all the ones I want to see someday -
Everything is Illuminated, Lake of Fire, Born into Brothels, Boys of Baraka, Saints & Soldiers, Man on Wire, In Chad, American Teen, La Misma Luna, 22 Weeks. S0me of these I don't even remember what they are about (disclaimer: some of these titles may be songs, books, or movies....)! I just put them into my phone so I would remember to check them out someday (& it's a good thing I did! I only remember about 3 of them!) I usually find an online review or a fellow blogger who has watched & recommended them.
I recently watched
Bella &
The Visitor and really enjoyed both of them - there is something in a beautiful, simple, heartfelt story. I was moved by
The Visitor - it makes me want to embrace & experience more culture; I wish I had rhythm to learn the djembe :)
And I came across
this post after a fellow blogger watched
Boys of Baraka. Makes me want to watch it and gives such great truths/ideas to be intentionally aware of, for those of us who want to be married & raise a family someday.
And it made me realize I should seriously consider getting NetFlix. Where else am I going to rent these great movies?? Any thoughts? Is it worth the investment of $5.00/month? I'm one of those people who have to be "in a mood" to watch one of these kinds of films - I had
Bella for at least 6 weeks before I actually watched it...
